A Note from our Owner & Designer Taylor (PinaTaylotta):

Ranch Rose was inspired by the seamless blending of Indigenous culture & western lifestyle in my every day life. I thought deeply on what I wanted this year's Valentine's collection to be:

what moves me, what is something with deep roots in love?

Within my own personal experience as an Indigenous woman raised in ranch culture, I have witnessed the blood, sweat, & tears that go into ranching. The dedication, the long hours, the demand for sacrifice. I'm a firm believer behind every rough rancher is a proud partner at home keeping the wind from catching flame to it all. Ranch Rose is a gentle flower, keeping a home fragrant with care while remaining strong with thorns & a sturdy stem for when the weathers come storming.

This year PinaTaylotta Petals has worked diligently with Lazy S Hacienda in Weatherford, Texas. It's a stunning Spanish style venue with ornate textiles, brilliant wood detailing, & affinity for all things ranch. There's even some sweet horses & hacienda dogs romping about the grounds. It was perfect for the marrying of masculinity & floral femininity in this campaign.

Two things were absolutely certain: I needed Macedonio as my male model & there would be hand tooled leather strappings on a wrap. The strappings have sat collecting dust in our shop for almost 4 years, donated to us by Stephenville art teacher Liz Stearnes. We knew they needed their own moment to shine, & it is finally here.

Macedonio Elias is part of the Otomi Tribe of South Central Mexico. His background is that of finding self love, building success through rough hands & stronger will, & actively advocating for Indigenous rights. Among his many accolades, he's also a cowboyin' leather worker.

"Horse & Indigenous have always had a special connection. From the Plains Natives to Southern Nahua, they work hand in hand to be stewards of the land & their people. Native cowboys are still making a name for themselves & putting our people in the spotlight. We've been around & will remain to exist alongside western culture."

Creating Ranch Rose is an homage to the daily gifts we give & receive as ranchers, farmers, & homesteaders. The deep red Hearts roses signify the physical blood given to what we love. The ever-flowing pampas grass an unruly representation of the changing winds & uncontrollable movement of nature. The metal vases a cool representation of things built to last, even with rust & water & dirt in its path.

Love is the root of it all. A strong, willful, sacrificial thing to give & receive.

I hope you enjoy this beautiful photography work of art as much as we enjoyed creating it for you. Happy Valentine's Day.
